Regardless of which braces treatment you choose, regular care and oral hygiene are essential. Special cleaning tools such as orthodontic brushes and dental floss should be used to prevent staining and plaque buildup.
Metal brackets do not stain, while ceramic brackets are resistant to staining; however, the elastic ties used with ceramic braces may discolor over time. After consuming tea, coffee, cigarettes, or colored foods and beverages, careful rinsing and brushing are highly recommended.
